Where have all the Cowboys gone...

Or Misti & Alisha for that matter? Well, I have no idea where to start. It has been the biggest roller coaster ever since July 4th.

Starting with twins... That is right I said twins. David and I are officially foster parents & our very first placement was 2 month old twins straight out of the NICU. The Wednesday after Independence day I received a phone call at about 3:30 asking if we would take a set of infant twins. One boy & one girl. Of coarse I am a SUCKER for babies & I said yes. (I do need to tell you that our agency called often asking if we could take a baby or a toddler, so this was not unusual. they just normally try to place them in the same county that they are from.) But this day I felt different about it. When David came home at 4, I told him that I thought that we would be getting twins. Wow, what a welcome home! LOL At 4:15 I called back because I could not wait any longer to know & they said that we were the chosen foster parents.

I said," what does that mean?" The lady responded that we needed to be at the Baylor NICU Thursday evening to pick them up. I said, "No way am I waiting until tomorrow, I want to go see them tonight", and we did.

When we arrived to the hospital we checked in at the NICU desk & the buzzed us back. Then we had to scrub in before we entered the room. When we went in to see them for the first time they were PRECIOUS!!! He weighed 6 lbs & she weighed 4 lbs 15 oz. So tiny & so sweet.

That Thursday afternoon we returned to take them home. We did "the car seat test" and all the fun discharge stuff. The terrible part is they didn't let the lil' girl go home with us that night. She was not eating well & they wanted to monitor her through the weekend. My heart was so heavy for her. I hated leaving her there. I can not imagine how Jen felt with Bella staying there for months.

I did realize that it was better because I did not get to overwhelmed taking one home at a time. They where such a blessing to us. WE loved every minute that they were with us. they only stayed with us for a month, until a Great Aunt got approved through CPS to take them. I was HEART BROKE the day that they came to take them. Word can not express the sorrow I felt.

With out our faith and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ I do not know how I would have made it through.

Many of you know the reason that David & I went through the process of getting our foster license was to adopt a precious little girl that we fell in love with a church. We thought that was all coming to a head recently when a court date was set to determine her fate. A week after my sweet twins left i received a email stating that David & my home study was being returned for consideration of being Bugsy's(that is what we called our sweet girl)forever family. They had found another family for her. We have been having visits with her for almost a year at this point. Nothing seemed to make sense. All I could keep telling my self is "His ways are higher than my ways".

What was God's plan for us? We are still not 100% sure, but I know that he blessed us in the short time that we had the twins & the year we had with Bugsy. We do have a new foster baby & he is adorable! He came to us in the middle of the night & I tried not to love him, but he is too sweet! He was 5 weeks old when we got him & he will be two months this next week. Please pray for David & me. This is the hardest thing that we have ever done, but at the same time we just love it.

On another note... Alisha is in full swing being the mom of a high schooler! That is right her lil angel McKay is a Freshmen in high school this year. Since school started McKay has also had a birthday & started her drivers training! WATCH OUT WORLD MCKAY is behind the wheel!!! As well as CHEERLEADING CHEERLEADING CHEERLEADING!!! That keeps Alisha running the rubber off of her tires form practice to practice.

We are not going to be doing Round Top this Fall due to many factors, but we will be in Canton for the months of Oct, Nov, & Dec. We are also having a big barn sale with multiple vendors in mid October.(More info to come...)

We have missed all our blog friends & it sure fills good to be back in the saddle!!!

Where in the World is Misti & Alsha?

Well, let me just tell you. I have noticed a lot of our other mommy bloggers have not been posting as much lately too. We are with ya girls! It seems like since school let out we have been thrown into OVER TIME!!! You would think that between Alisha & I that we have 10 kids as much as we go, but no. Only 2 high maintenance princesses! Alisha's princess McKay is going to summer school (by choice), cheer leading 3 nights a week & keeping up her social life too. My lil' angel "Bugsy Boo" informed my husband and I last night that she plans on being a "V.B.S. crasher" all summer long. As, well as she likes us to plan daily activities for her like swimming, the movies, the park, the library, and the list goes on. Mean while all of this is going on Alisha played nurse to her mother who had surgery & baby sitter to her 2 year old nephew. (need I say more). And I played V.B.S. director for what seems like the 100th time! But during all of this we managed to slip away. That's right! And where did we go you ask? To the BIG town of Athens, TX to see something GRAND!!! The Grand opening of Winnie & Tulula's!!! Here we are in front of some great green doors a few doors down from our destination.

Here is Alisha loving what she is seeing! They had TONS of GREAT stuff.

Here is a Great area view of the store.

This is Mindy from Primitiques 'n Poetry. She is a real doll!

Here is Debbie doing what she does best "TALKIN' TRASH". I wish I had a picture of Debbie's window that she did. It was FAB-U-LOUS!!!

This is David with his awesome M2 cross that he won from the Bella raffle that the Junk Sista's had.

I wish I knew what Cat Daddy was telling Teresa , but I sure she shouldn't believe it!!! Winnie & Tulula's was GREAT! Everyone needs to go and check it out!

Well, guys & gals I need to hit the sack!

Love, Peace, Junk & Lip Gloss!

Stalker....

Well, ladies & gentlemen. I must confess something. I am an addict. Yes, that is right I have a problem. So, I will start this way... Hello, my name is Misti and I am a Stalker!

Don't laugh! I know that there are others out there that are too. Let me just define stalking to clear the air. Stalking: the harassment of other people due to following them. Did you read that? FOLLOWING OTHER PEOPLE!

I just can't help myself. I must admit, every night before I go to bed, in the morning and several times through the day I check the blogs that I am following. I get so excited when they have a new post! It is like a high for me.

There are too many blogs that I get my fix from to list, but here is a few: Theresa, Mindy, Amy, Cathy & Deidra, Patti, and the birthday girl herself, Debbie. I stalk over 20 blogs a day.

The worst part is that I even get excited about being stalked myself! That is WEIRD! Come on people I know that there are those of you out there that feel the same way. I need you support. So, if you are a stalker too and or if you like to be stalked, please let me know. I need to know that I am not in this alone!!!

By the way I think that I have even contaminated my husband, David. That is right. Just click on his lttle name here & it will take you to HIS BLOG. My business partner Alisha also has a blog, as well as big girl McKay. You should stalk them too! LOL!

Junkers Paradise

That's right everybody! That is what we spend Presh's birthday doing-JUNKING!!! Can you think of a better way to spend your birthday. Okay, well maybe there is a few better ways to spend your birthday, but we didn't have time to get our passports!

Anywho, the day stared out good and progressively got better. We went here and there finding a few little odds and ends. Then we went to a little antique store that was on our way home. There we found a GREAT little garden ferris wheel. The next stop was the best stop of the day. Alisha said that she had been driving through town and saw some junk outside of this store and thought that it might be a thrift store of sorts.

Well, as we approached the place where she had previously scoped out some treasures there was a sign outside reading "Vergil's Electric". It looked like a store.
At least that is what we thought. As we pulled up we saw an older gentlemen on the telephone in the front window. When he saw us checking out the goods he came outside. He ask, "Can I help you ladies?" Alisha replies, "Well sir, we were wondering if this was a thrift store". Virgil (Well that is who I assume he is, but you know what happens when you assume) states, "No Hun, this is my house". Can you just say, AWKWARD! He did say that he was wanting to get rid of a few things and we could get out and look. Well, you know the rest.

We bailed out of the car like a coon dog on his first hunt. (Slobber and all!) Much to our surprise we had found a GOLD MINE!!! We went into his little work shop on the side of his "home", only after he told us that he was gonna tear it down. I believe that the angels in Heaven rejoiced at the great things that we found in there. Then as we scanned the shop Alisha said, "shut up" because that is always what she says when she is excited about a fab find, "check out those fixtures". They where thebomb.com!!! I said well, "ask Virg how much". Can you believe it. here we are at some man we never meets house and I am giving him a nickname. Alisha couldn't believe it either. She got so cracked up about it that she could not even ask.

Finally, she got it together and ask Virg"how much". He replied back with a great story about them coming out of and old church. We where in love! With the fixtures, not Virg. Needless to say they are property of M2 now along with a few other finds from "Vergil's Electric".

I will just put it this way. Alisha has third row seating and there was only room for the two of us! Oh, happy day! It was one GREAT junkin' day!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...

Happy birthday dear Presh-Presh! Happy birthday to you!

Well, I am sure that some of you are wondering who the heck Presh-Presh is and why do we call her that. It is my very own partner in crime & business, Alisha. Today I am celebrating her birthday because she says that she "does not celebrate them anymore she just has them". WHATEVER! I am always looking for a reason to celebrate!!! (and eat!)

Besides that Alisha is well worth celebrating! She is Fab-U-Lous as Deb from Talking Trash would say! Her husband Justin sure thinks so, that is where "Presh" comes from. Justin calls her Precious, but just "Presh" for short. And that she is! She is a great mom as you read Sunday, a WONDERFUL friend, a truly passionate person! And the list could go on & on...

Love you Presh! Hope you have a SUPER day!

Honor Thy Mother

Well, this Mother's Day I would like to honor two mother's. The first is the better part of M2. She is great mom to McKaylei! I wish I could tell you the miles that she logs driving back and forth to McKay's Cheer practices & competitions. I know for a fact that it is a couple of hundred miles a week. No joke!!! She also puts in hours on end standing on her feet to make sure that baby McKay is "Best Dressed" in the K-town Jr. High! She is McKaylei's BIGGEST FAN! There are a million more things that I could say about what a great mom she is, but instead we will just say
Three Cheers to Alisha!!! The second Mom I would like to honor today is THE MOST SPECIAL mom in the whole world!!! My very own mom, THE QUEEN B! She has been a SUPER mom to me. She has been many things to me in my life time. Here are just a few: costume designer, hairstylist, makeup artist, therapist, disciplinary, comforter, supporter, doctor, party planner, chauffeur, cook......and the list goes on......
I could never thank her enough for all that she has done for me. She has taught me so much. But most of all she has showed me how to LOVE!
Happy Mother's Day!

No need for dental records....

Well, since our last blog I am sure that you thought that our bodies have decayed by now!!! That is not the case. Although, I do wish that we have been laying down and resting. Sadly, we have not. Alisha and I have both been on overdrive.

No need to explain why the holidays were so busy for us. You know how it is between November and December. Well, 2009 came and Alisha's crew went into full time swing with competition cheer! As, for my husband and me, we started a new FULL TIME project called the adoption process. Here we are and it is spring and Alisha's family is still burning up the pavement going to cheer competitions. And we are finishing up our adoption stuff.

We are making plans for some stuff in the spring and summer! I am hoping that this next weekend in a real inspiration for me! Then M2 can start whipping out new merchandise.

Next Thursday morning Big D ( that's my husband, not the town) will be heading out for Round Top, TX. We will be junking, networking, junking some more, and attending the Junk-O-Roma Prom!!! We can't wait! I love it!!!

Although, I am sad because the other part of M2 will not be in attendance with us! :( You know she is a DIE HARD cheer mom, and her baby girl will be trying out for her competition squad next weekend.

GO McKay!!!
Well, you will be seeing more of us now that we are refocusing. We hope that this year is bigger than Texas hair on Prom night! We can't wait to get started back! See lots more!
